The Journey Continues: Strengthening Suffa for Tomorrow
You gave generously in Ramadan — now here’s what’s next. Suffa is moving forward with renewed purpose, core programmes intact, and a bold new plan.
In recent months, we witnessed something extraordinary. You — our local and global community — stood with us to protect and preserve what Suffa represents: sincere da’wah, foundational education, and a sanctuary of belonging rooted in our sacred tradition. Alhamdulillah, thanks to your remarkable generosity during the Save Suffa campaign, we raised around £68,000 GBP, securing a crucial short-term lifeline for our work.
Though we did not reach our original £100k target, we received a clear and powerful message: this community cares. Your giving — especially during the blessed month of Ramadan — reaffirmed that our mission matters, and that together we can carry it forward. That support has given us renewed clarity, courage, and hope.
Our Mission Continues
By the permission of Allah (SWT), Suffa will continue to serve as a torchbearer for the deen of Islam, with sincerity, compassion, and prophetic leadership for generations to come. While the landscape may shift, our mission does not. We remain firmly committed to preserving, teaching, and embodying the sacred inheritance of the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah.
We’re pleased to share that our core offerings currently remain fully intact. This includes KAFA Online, our flagship online madrasah for children aged 6–16; the As-Sofa Quranic Centre UK, offering online Quran classes for learners of all backgrounds; and Islamic Foundations, a vital lifeline for converts and those reconnecting with their faith. These programmes continue to grow, alhamdulillah, and your support is what keeps them thriving.
Reaffirming Accessible Education
Suffa was built on the belief that sacred knowledge should be accessible to all, especially to those seeking closeness to Allah (SWT), regardless of background or circumstance. That vision remains at the heart of everything we do.
However, in order to meet rising costs and secure our future, we may need to carefully reassess how we offer our wider range of services. This could include modest fee increases or streamlining some offerings. Far from a departure from our values, these steps are a practical means to protect what matters most — and to ensure we can continue to serve with excellence and care.
Investing in a Sustainable Future
Looking ahead, we are building a stronger and more independent foundation for Suffa’s future. One significant step is our exploration into the launch of a social enterprise — a business whose profits are reinvested directly into Suffa as a waqf, sustaining our da’wah long into the future.
We are in active conversation with trusted consultants — both within and beyond the Nusantara community — to shape viable models that honour our ethos and meet real community needs. We pray these discussions will bear beneficial fruit, and with Allah’s help, will grow into something transformative for our mission.
Of course, this transition will take time, focus, and dedication. There may be phases when our team has to reallocate time and energy to focus on this next phase — but we are in full conviction that it will lead to a stronger, more resilient Suffa, ready to thrive with or without external funding, and always anchored in Islamic excellence.
At the same time, we will continue to seek support, donations, annual Zakat maal, and network connections at every level, from individuals and families to small businesses, large corporations, government bodies, and grant-makers. A varied and intentional approach to funding — both spiritual and strategic — will, inshaAllah, allow us to safeguard and expand our mission in the years ahead.
Walking Forward, Together
The journey ahead may bring change, but our direction remains the same. We walk with the light of sacred knowledge, a commitment to prophetic character, and deep love for Allah (SWT) and His Messenger (SAW). You’ve already shown that this mission matters to you — and for that, we are endlessly grateful.
So we ask you to stay with us. Follow our updates, share our work, and continue making dua for us. We are moving forward not with fear, but with faith in Allah’s promise, and in the strength of this blessed community.
Suffa will always be: a home for seekers, a support for the vulnerable, and a light for our communities.
وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ ۚ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ
